Bookshop Coordinator / Assistant Manager Marketing
OUP has a chain of 12 bookshops in Pakistan retailing a range of books including school and college texts, dictionaries, academic, scholarly and children's books, and books for learning English. This position involves managing staff, customer care, promotional activities, and retail operations of the OUP network of bookshops.
Skills/Qualifications required: Graduate, retail and staff management experience, business and financial acumen, a valid driving license.
Assistant Manager, Sales
Responsible for selling OUP's higher education books to universities, colleges, libraries, and booksellers in Sindh and Balochistan.
Skills/Qualifications required: Graduate with a valid driving license. A professional salesperson with high levels of energy and motivation, and commercial acumen.
Editor
Responsible for project management of OUP books across a range of levels and disciplines.
Skills/Qualifications required: Should have impeccable English or Urdu skills and the ability to manage multiple external and internal relationships, work under pressure, multi-task, take responsibility, and show initiative. Prior editorial experience is desirable.
Creative Designer/Copywriter
To work with the Design Department to produce high quality design and copy for a wide range of promotional material.
Skills/Qualifications required: A Bachelor's degree in communication design or its equivalent. 1-2 years of professional design experience in an advertising agency environment would be an advantage. Exceptional conceptual, creative, and art direction skills, impeccable English language skills and ability to write imaginative copy.
A strong sense of visually appealing message execution to the target market, proficiency in electronic design software, design / publishing software are also necessary. The candidate must be able to work within tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
Artists, Illustrators, and Designers
Creative, demanding, and challenging junior and middle management positions which require excellent creative skills combined with the ability to work to tight deadlines. Candidates can also apply for part-time positions based in Karachi or freelance from anywhere in Pakistan.
Skills/Qualifications required:
Artist/Illustrator: Diploma or degree in fine arts with exceptional drawing skills, particularly live figures. Knowledge of graphic software will be an added advantage.
Designer: Diploma or degree in Graphic or Communication Design with proficiency in design / publishing software.
